Country pub dining in West Dorset doesn’t get much better than this.

The Admiral Hood in the Past

We would like to know more about the past of the Admiral Hood – if you think you can help then please contact Kath. We know the pub was burnt down in the 1950’s and rebuilt in 1956.  Do you recall the fire? Do you have photographers? In fact any old photographs of the pub would be most appreciated. We know there were two famous Admiral Hood’s: Samuel (1724–1816) and his younger brother Alexander (1726–1814). Which of the two was the pub named after? And why? If you think you can help Kath understand the history of the pub further please get in touch.

Tribute to Naomi

As many of you will know we lost Naomi, a key member of our team to meningitis.  There are no words to express the sadness we felt, for she was very well loved and is greatly missed. I’d like to thank customers and people from the village in helping us raise just over £11,000 in 3 months for a bed at Southampton hospital, where Naomi was cared for. Myself, a few remaining quiz teams along with the help of the parish council, have had a bench put in front of the village hall in Naomi’s memory. Somewhere everyone can sit and spend time remembering her.
